Ellie is 2 Months Old!!

Well, this is my first-ever blog and social networking status of my life... so here it goes!

Ellie is two months old! Adams and I have NO idea where the past two months of our lives have gone, but nonetheless it has all been wonderful. Ellie was born at 7 lbs 8 oz. and she has already grown to 10 lbs 13 oz! She LOVES to eat. She also just recently started smiling about 2-3 weeks ago and it is the sweetest gift a parent could receive from their child. My favorite time of the day is going into her room to wake her up and as soon as I unwrap her swaddle she stretches so big and smiles like everything is great in the world...and it is.

Ellie's looks have changed so much and she is really growing her own personality! She looked just like me when she was first born and for the first few weeks, but she is slowly starting to look like her daddy and other family members (crazy!). She has the PRETTIEST blue eyes and when she looks at Adams she is just mesmerized... it's the sweetest thing when they talk to each other. She LOVES to spend time with her daddy and she giggles and kicks during their time together. Talk about a father-daughter relationship...

Around 3 weeks of age she began getting very fussy and cried ALL DAY long. She couldn't/wouldn't sleep and just fussed all the time. I was assuming the entire spell was colic, so I tried to ignore as much of the emotions that it takes out of you (as a mother)...but it was SO difficult. I made it through the evening hours with wine. Whew! We tried switching her to Soy formula, giving her Mylicon drops, and Gripe Water was an evening snack (and is amazing, by the way). At 7.5 weeks of age the doctor wanted to see her to document our assumption of her being "colicky", so I took her in to see him and naturally she was an angel. No crying, no tears; just big blue eyes. He have me a few options and noted that it could be reflux. Lo and behold, our daughter DOES have reflux and she takes Nexium. That night she slept the entire night. 10 hours. It was amazing and we have praised the Lord! Woohoo!

Monday, Ellie went to the Arboretum to take pictures in front of the picturesque tulips that have bloomed! It was so much fun! She sat in her Bumbo seat that allows her to sit up without having to use her tummy muscles :). She loved it at first, but she then got sick of being used for pictures. I don't blame her!

Ellie is the greatest blessing and the sweetest bundle of joy. Adams and I have loved every minute with her!
